红尘白浪两茫茫，忍辱柔和是妙方，

到处随缘延岁月，终身安分度时光。

世间的纷扰争斗漫无边际，犹如茫茫无际的红尘白浪一样，唯有忍辱柔和才是处世 的妙方，我们应该到处随缘延续岁月，终身安分守己度时光。

从唐朝以来，汉地就有了“红尘”这个名词，据说因为当时的首都是长安，那里终 日车水马龙，飞扬的尘土在夕阳下成了红色，所以人们就以“红尘”来比喻世间或 者闹市。

所谓“红尘白浪两茫茫”，这是比喻世间的斗争犹如红尘和白浪般无边无际。人们 为了达到自己的目的，整天都在勾心斗角、互相奋战。在这种情况下，息灭斗争的 唯一妙方就是忍辱柔和。安忍有许多功德。佛陀在《生经》中说：“若常行柔和， 众人所爱敬。”如果一个人恒常行为柔和，那么他就会得到众人的尊重和喜爱。 《中阿含经》说：“唯忍能止诤，是法可尊贵。”意思是，唯有安忍能制止诤论，这 个法是最为尊贵之法。所以在如今这个斗争特别多的社会，大家应该奉行忍辱柔和、 互相和爱，这样才能活得快乐。

此外，我们不管处于何时何地都不要有过多的强求，应该随着自己的缘分，一辈子 安分守己度时光。在短暂的人生里，很多人总是想强行达到某种目标，有些无权无 财的人很想升官发财，有些容貌不端严的人非要做整容手术，结果反而给自己带来 了不快乐。其实人的生活不应该违背自然法则。水是往下流的，日月是在天空中运 行的，如果我们特意阻挡它们是很困难的。同样，一个人如果贫穷，他肯定有贫穷 的因缘，如果相貌丑陋，肯定也有丑陋的因缘，要强行改变是相当困难的。因此， 生活要随缘，有条件过得好一点，没有条件就随缘而过。世间任何法都是如此，只 要因缘具足时，即使不愿意它也会来。比如你家里发生了不开心的事情，如果这是 无法改变、命中注定的，那它早晚会来的，再怎么抗拒也没有用。所以我们应该随 顺自然规律，以坦然的心态过平静的生活。

休将自己心田昧，莫把他人过失扬，

谨慎应酬无懊恼，耐烦作事好商量。

不要将自己的心田埋没，昧了自己的良心，也不要把别人的过失在众人面前宣扬。 与人交往时要谨慎应酬，不要做让别人不开心的事，否则以后自己也会懊悔。在做 事情的过程中应该细致耐心，要尽量跟别人沟通商量。

在《醒世歌》里，前后两句的字词都是对应的，从修辞学的角度来讲，这是一篇很 好的作品。大家可以细心品味。

我们千万不能宣扬别人的过失，如果看到别人有过失就宣扬，这是一种最坏的行为。 《弟子规》中说：“扬人恶，即是恶。”意思是，如果宣扬别人的过失，说明自己 也很坏。当我们说别人的过失时，别人肯定不愿意，就像别人说我们的过失时，自 己也不愿意一样，所以“己所不欲，勿施于人”，大家以后不要说他人的过失。不 仅不能说过失，也不能观察他人的过失，如果经常见到他人的过失，说明自己也有 许多过失，要像《六祖坛经》说的那样──“常见自心过愆，不见他人是非好恶”。

在与人交往时应当谨慎应酬，一定要懂得为人处世的基本原则：对上者恭敬尊重， 对中者和睦相处，对下者以慈悲心维护。总之，不要经常吵吵闹闹，跟谁都合不拢。 有些人就是这样，不管到出家人还是在家人的群体中，跟谁都合不拢，与别人的合 作性特别差。这种人很成问题，不要说出世间的修行解脱，甚至在世间的群体中也 很难有所成就。

在做事情的过程中，我们不能自作主张，要跟大家共同商量。麦彭仁波切在《君规 教言论》中再三强调，遇到重大的事情要和大家商量，这样即使事情没有成功，人 们也不会对你有怨言。如果没有商量就自作主张，事情成功就罢了，如果没有成功 的话，别人都会把过失归责于你。

总之，我们在做事情的过程中，一定要和别人好好商量，在和别人接触的过程中， 一定要有善巧方便。

从来硬弩弦先断，每见刚刀口易伤，

惹祸只因闲口舌，招愆多为狠心肠。

在世间，从来都是硬弩的弦先断，每每见到锋利钢刀的刀口容易损伤。惹祸都是因 为语言不当造成的，过患大多是心狠手辣、心地不善招致的。

遇到石头等坚硬物时，为什么钢刀的口最容易损伤呢？就是因为刀口太锋利了。为 什么硬弩的弦最容易断呢？就是因为绷得太紧了。这说明一个道理：在世间如果人 的行为太粗暴、性情太刚强，就会处处遇到不顺。所以我们应该经常保持柔和的态 度，心平气和地处理问题，这样任何事情都容易成办。

我们还要时刻观照自己的语言，否则也会导致种种祸患。老子说：“多言数穷，不 如守中。”意为，如果人的语言过多，反而会带来不便。孔子也说，花语巧言足以 扰乱人的德行。所以大家要注意自己的语言。

《辩意长者子经》云：“心调能柔和，谦让而敬顺，学问诵习经，乃为人中尊。” 意思是，如果一个人的心调柔，对别人谦让恭敬随顺，同时又能学习持诵经论，这 就是人当中最尊贵、最了不起的。所以，如果我们能有一颗调柔的心，对与人交往 或者做事情都会有很大利益。

在我接触的道友中，有些人的心很调柔，不管什么环境都能适应，在哪里都能随顺 大家；而有些人则心不调柔：今天在这个部门，明天在那个部门，后天又到另一个 部门；或者今天在这个班，明天在那个班，后天又换一个班……不管在哪里都呆不 住。其实回顾自己的人生也会发现，很多不顺都是由于性情刚强难化导致的。要解 决这些问题，就必须通过大乘的甚深教法调伏自己的心。大乘佛法的加持力是不可 思议的，即使心特别粗暴野蛮的人，通过一段时间闻思修行后，心也会变得调顺堪 能，这种例子有很多。

是非不必争人我，彼此何须论短长？

世事由来多缺陷，幻躯焉得免无常？

没必要整天争论我是你非，彼此又何必辩论我长你短呢？世事从来都是缺陷比较多， 自己的幻躯又焉能免于无常呢？

我们这个世界是娑婆世界，不是极乐世界，所以肯定会有许多缺陷。如果是极乐世 界的话，那一切都是清净快乐的。《白莲花经》等经中说，“娑婆世界”意为“堪 忍世界”，所以在这里度化众生的菩萨要有顽强的毅力，否则度不了刚强难化的众 生；生活在这里的人也要有堪忍力，否则很难呆下去。既然这个世界缺陷这么多， 加之自己的幻化之躯也免不了无常，如果天天讲人我是非、不断进行斗争，这有什 么意义呢？人生这么短暂，哪有工夫搞这些啊？

以前罗状元有一首《醒世诗》，里面也有类似的教言：“世事纷纷如电闪，轮回滚 滚似云飞，今日不知明日事，哪有工夫理是非？”大意为：世事像闪电一样瞬息万 变，轮回犹如滚滚的乌云一样，今日根本不知道明日会发生什么事，我们哪里有讲 是非的时间？

如果一个人重视自己的修行，或者利益他众的心比较强，那他根本不会谈论别人的 是非。我们这里有些道友就是如此，除了自己的基本生活以外，白天晚上都在想着 利益众生的事，从来没时间说是非。我前两天也说过，如果是为了众生，事情越多 越好；如果是为了自己，事情越少越好。为什么这么讲呢？因为自己的琐事太多会 障碍修行，而利益众生的事情太多则不同，即使障碍自己的修行也是值得的。我们 是大乘佛教徒，所以首先要有利益众生的发心，然后要实地行持。如果舍弃了利益 众生，我觉得有点可惜。我不是因为找不到发心人员，才故意这样说的。我自己经 常有这种情况，如果某一天因为做事情而耽误了修行，我就会返观自身：我是因为 利益众生还是因为散乱、烦恼而耽误了修行？如果是因为利益众生而耽误了修行， 那我就不会有后悔心──毕竟是为众生而忙碌，虽然自己的念经、磕头、观修没有 完成，但众生的事情和自己的事情比较起来，我应该选择为众生做事情！这是我个 人的少许体会。当然，每个人各有价值观，有人认为我这样做很好，也有人认为我 这样不合理，应该先度自己再度他人。但话说回来，不管是先度自己还是先度他人， 我们哪有谈论是非长短的时间呢？世间本来不可能十全十美，再说自己的身体也无 有恒常性，既然如此，我们就没必要谈论人我是非，要么自己认认真真修行，要么 勤勤恳恳利他。

吃些亏处原无碍，退让三分也不妨，

春日才看杨柳绿，秋风又见菊花黄。

在生活中吃一些亏没什么大不了的，在与人交往时适当让步也不妨。兴衰很快就会 交替，才看到春日的绿柳，很快又见到秋风中的黄菊。

俗话说：“舍得，舍得，有舍才有得；舍不得，舍不得，不舍就不得。”所以我们 不要怕吃亏。《修心八颂》中有一个甚深的教言：“亏损失败自取受，利益胜利奉 献他。”大家应该做到这样。最近我找到了金厄瓦格西的《修心八颂讲义》，方便 的话我想把它翻译成汉文，那里面说做任何善事以后如果以《修心八颂》作回向， 相续中会自然而然生起自他交换的菩提心。自他交换的菩提心非常重要，阿底峡尊 者依止了许多上师，虽然他对所有的上师都很恭敬，可是提起其他上师时，尊者只是 合掌于胸前，而一提到金洲上师，尊者就双手合掌在头顶并且流泪不止。为什么他 如此恭敬金洲上师呢？就是因为金洲上师给他传授了自他交换的菩提心。

这里有一个比喻，春天的绿柳虽然很好看，可是时过境迁，不久就会被秋天的黄菊 代替。这个比喻可能有两层意思：

一方面是对当时社会的影射。从紫柏禅师和憨山大师的传记看，当时的皇帝对高僧 大德有一些特殊的措施，所以作者借物喻人说：今天你是高高在上的皇上，但过一 段时间就不一定了，万法都是无常的，就像春天的绿柳到了秋天就会被黄菊代替一 样。

另一方面可以解释为：在世间今天我吃亏，也许明天就会得到回报；今天我向别人 让步或者将胜利奉献给他，也许明天或者下一世他就会对我好。万法不可能永远保 持不变，这就是因果回圈之理。古人说：“让一时，风平浪静；退一步，海阔天空。” 所以，当你遇到不顺时，如果能让一时，很快就会风平浪静，如果能退一步，前方 马上就是一片海阔天空，这样自己的事情就会逐渐顺利了。

汉地很多大德都造有道歌，如永嘉禅师的《证道歌》、憨山大师的《醒世歌》，这 些道歌的词句虽然好懂，但只有结合大乘佛法来讲解，才能发掘其中的甚深意义。

荣华终是三更梦，富贵还同九月霜，

老病死生谁替得？酸甜苦辣自承当。

世间的荣华只是半夜三更的美梦，醒后一点都没有，富贵如同秋天的霜一样，很快 就会消失。在轮回之中，有谁能替自己感受老病死生之苦呢？个中酸甜苦辣唯有自 己承担。

虽然人们特别希求荣华富贵、名声地位、相貌端严，但这些世间的圆满很容易消失， 不会伴随自己很久，唯有老病死生才会恒时相随。在流转轮回的漫长过程中，不管 是在恶趣感受痛苦还是在善趣感受快乐，一切酸甜苦辣都是自己感受，别人不可能 代替。因此，我们没必要为了暂时的荣华富贵造恶业，否则自己终将承受果报。

世上哪有永不衰败的圆满呢？麦彭仁波切在《二规教言论》中说：“一切高贵终堕落， 一切荣华终衰竭，一切美妙终丑陋，有为诸法岂未见？”在这个世界上，从来没有 永远的高高在上、永远的荣华富贵、永远的美丽端庄，在我们的记忆中，许多以前 特别令人羡慕的富贵人现在已沦为乞丐，许多非常了不起的人物也变成了凄惨可怜 者。《六度集经》云：“盛者必衰，实者必虚。”因此，高际必堕、聚际必散就是 世间的真理，可惜世间人极其愚昧，往往不懂这个道理。

人从巧计夸伶俐，天自从容定主张，

谄曲贪嗔堕地狱，公平正直即天堂。

人自恃聪明而巧计营谋，别人也会夸他聪明伶俐，虽然这样的假动作在人前有可能 成功，但最终却无法逃脱因果的制裁，老天自会从容定主张──谄曲贪嗔者将惨堕 地狱，公平正直者将超生天堂。

人们常说：“诸天尊和上师三宝有天眼，如果你做了昧良心或者违背因果的事，他 们会耻笑你的。”所以人的行为是无法隐藏的。况且善有善报、恶有恶报，如果以 谄曲心、贪心、嗔心造恶业，必定会堕入旁生、饿鬼、地狱感受痛苦；如果居心公 平正直，以无贪、无嗔之心行持善法，就可以前往天堂享受快乐。所以我们务必要 慎重取舍善恶因果。

《诸法集要经》云：“一切诸世间，善恶法为主。”因此，人的命运或者前途是快 乐还是痛苦，就取决于自己的行为是善是恶。这个道理说起来简单，要做到却不容 易。《好了歌》云：“世人都晓神仙好，只有金银忘不了。”很多人觉得成就佛菩 萨果位或者往生极乐世界很好，但在生活中一遇到贪嗔的对境就对治不了烦恼，然 后就开始造恶业，最终以此而感受痛苦。

这里讲到了甚深的因果之理，希望大家千万不要违越因果法则，否则必定会像吃毒 药一样感受恶趣的痛苦！

麝因香重身先死，蚕为丝多命早亡，

一剂养神平胃散，两盅和气二陈汤。

麝因为珍贵的麝香而身先死，蚕因为贵重的蚕丝而命早亡，同样，人如果不知足少 欲，贪求奢侈的生活，很快也会遭遇许多危害，所以我们应该服用养神平气的法药， 尽量过清心寡欲、平平淡淡的生活。

所谓“一剂养神平胃散”、“两盅和气二陈汤”，这是以调身的药来比喻调心的法： 平胃散是一种中药，此处比喻调心养神，二陈汤也是一种中药，此处比喻和气融乐。 也就是说，依靠平胃散和二陈汤这两种药，能让人们身体健康；同样，依靠调心养 神、和气融乐的法药，也能让人们内心快乐。《佛所行赞》云：“多求则为苦，少 欲则安隐，为安应少欲，况求真解脱？”意思是，人如果过多地希求，许多痛苦会 接踵而至，如果少欲则会过得很安逸，即便为了暂时的安乐也应该少欲，更何况说 希求真正解脱呢？因此，如果我们不知足少欲，不满足于清贫的生活，修行绝对不 能成功，根本得不到解脱！

生前枉费心千万，死后空留手一双，

悲欢离合朝朝闹，富贵穷通日日忙。

生前费尽心机苦苦营谋，死后只能两手空空前往后世，世间凡愚天天上演悲欢离合 的闹剧，日日为富贵穷通而忙碌不已。这些词很美，你们应该背下来，以后可以给 别人讲一讲。以前有歌星唱过《醒世歌》，以后你们开心时可以唱一唱，不开心时 也可以唱一唱。在汉传佛教大德的道歌里，有许多看破红尘、放下自在的殊胜窍诀， 在藏传佛教大德的道歌里，有许多利他菩提心尤其是大圆满觉性的殊胜窍诀，我们 应该用这些教言来对治自己的烦恼，经常处于法喜充满的状态。

有些人始终愁眉苦脸，不仅自己心里不舒服，跟别人接触时也经常小题大做，最后 把整个团体的气氛都搞坏了。这样没有必要。我们在世上活不了很久，终究避免不 了无常，跟道友或者其他人接触的时间是很短暂的，所以没有必要今天跟这个人斗， 明天跟那个人斗。如果自己的一生都成了永不停息的“战斗机”，那有什么意义呢？ 当然，今天我比较开心，所以装成一个开心自在的修行人，也许明天我不开心，自 己也变成了“战斗机”。

这里说得很清楚：生前费尽心机、辛辛苦苦谋求财产、名声、地位，一直为这些身 外之物而奔波忙碌，但死时只能空手一双前往后世，连一根毛都带不走，甚至最贪 执的身体也带不走。在《杂阿含经》中，也有这样的教言：“世间金宝等，王贼水火 侵，死时悉舍离，无有随人者。”意思是，世间的金银财宝都是不可靠的，有些被 国王抢走，有些被盗贼偷走，有些以地水火风的灾害而灭尽，即使没有遇到这些违 缘，死的时候分文也带不走，唯有生前造的善恶业会跟随自己。既然人死的时候终 将一无所有，那现在天天上演悲欢离合的闹剧，为了富贵穷通而忙碌，这有什么意 义呢？如果整天为了感情、财产、人际关系而不开心、互相争斗，这样过一辈子确 实没有任何意义，所以我们应该将世间看得淡一点。

自古以来，真正看破的上师对世间都是无有耽执的，不管荣华富贵、亲朋好友还是繁 华的都市，他们对此一点耽执都没有，心中唯一希求的就是解脱，大家应该向他们 学习。以前我们学院附近有一位曲恰堪布，他是法王如意宝的道友，法王经常赞叹 曲恰堪布讲经说法的精神。自从曲恰堪布圆寂后，他的道场多年来一直没有恢复，最 近他的部分弟子想恢复上师的道场，继续进行闻思修行。其中有一位法师是我的同 学，前一段时间我们在一起聊天，他回忆说：“上师一生中每天都讲经说法，我记 得这么多年以来，除了夏天耍坝子时跳七八天格萨尔王的金刚舞，除此以外连一天 休息都没有，不管西历的星期天还是藏历的初十、十五都不例外，每天都要讲一堂 课。前一段时间我们商量后觉得，应该按照上师的传统每天讲经说法，但这样又出 了个问题：如果一个月连一天休息都没有，现在的人能不能忍受啊？他们不一定高 兴。可是原来我们根本不存在这个问题。”听了他的话，我当时就想：以前的上师 不是一年两年，而是这么长时间里每天不断地讲课，无论星期天还是节假日都不中 断，确实非常了不起！

可是现在城市里的人不是这样，菩提学会有些人每个星期上一两堂课都很困难，有 些人基本上来不成──今天亲戚结婚，明天亲戚的亲戚死了，后天我要出差，再过几 天感冒了……总是有一些理由。这些人表面上是正式学员，可是一个礼拜连 一两 天都空不出来学习，甚至半天都空不出来。这些人应该好好反省：人家是三百六十五 天不断听经闻法，一天都不需要休息，而我在世间打转那么长时间了，现在还拿不 出一点精进，这是不是太惭愧了？

罗状元在《醒世诗》中描述世间人说：“急急忙忙苦追求，寒寒暖暖度春秋，朝朝 暮暮营家计，昧昧昏昏白了头。”（世人急急忙忙苦求世间琐事，寒寒暖暖度过一 年四季，从早到晚经营家业，在昧昧昏昏中已经是白发苍苍。）“是是非非何日了？ 烦烦恼恼几时休？明明白白一条路，万万千千不肯修。”（世间的是是非非、烦烦 恼恼何时方能止息？虽然所有人最终明明白白都是死路一条，可是芸芸众生就是不 肯修行解脱道。）

有时候看起来，世间人每天不停地忙着，这样忙到最后有什么用呢？如果没有修持 善法，为了这个虚幻不实的身体忙多少年也是白忙。再过二三十年，现在我们为之 忙碌的一切都会消失，一点也带不到后世，唯有造的善恶业会紧紧跟随自己。大家 一定要明白这一点！

休得争强来斗胜，百年浑是戏文场，

顷刻一声锣鼓歇，不知何处是家乡。

不要争强好胜，为一些小事争斗不息，人生百年不过一场戏而已，如果自己一直执 迷不悟，最后忽然一声锣鼓响，闹剧谢幕散场，那时不知将随业流转何方。 在人生这场戏中，每个人的角色不尽相同：有些人比较成功，从小到大没有经历过 什么痛苦，修行也比较不错；而有些人则不太成功，从小到大处处遇到痛苦。但不 论什么人，最后都将“顷刻一声锣鼓歇”，终将断气离开世间。每个人都是这样： “_”的一声，你的戏就演完了，从此以后你这位先生或者女士就不在了，你的心识 随着业力漂泊，也许前往人间，也许前往地狱，也许前往清净刹土。所以趁现在自 由自在时，每个人应该多行持对来世有意义的善法──最初发菩提心，中间以菩提 心摄持做利益众生的事，最后以菩提心回向善根，这一点非常重要。

人的生命确实很短暂，在座的很多人也许明年之前就会离开人间，那时自己的家乡 在何处呢？扪心自问时，有些没有行持善法，尤其造了恶业没有忏悔的人是很可怜 的。既然自己来到世间，遇到了大乘佛法，也明白了善恶因果之理，就再不能整天 散乱度日、忙碌于无有实义的世间法了。作为出家人，应该看破放下一切琐事，把 时间和精力全部放在修行上；作为在家人，虽然不得不生活，该做的经商、务农、 放牧都该去做，但也不能一直忙碌不息，一直对世间法特别耽执

如果一年三百六十五天里，连一个月也拿不出来修行，那这样的人表面上是皈依佛 教的人，实际上肯定没有考虑过后世，和世间人就没什么差别了。世间人对前生后 世的存在与否没有真实的依据，而佛教通过可靠的依据进行抉择，证成了每个众生 都有前生后世，众生乃至从轮回解脱前都将随善恶业不断流转。既然每个人都有后 世，那大家想一想：人生最多一百年，即使有人活得特别不错，最多也是一百二十 岁、一百二十五岁、一百三十岁，而未来的前途是多少万年？这么漫长的快乐和痛 苦都取决于现在，如果这方面一点都不考虑，那自己是不是比较愚痴？希望各位了 知善恶取舍之理，从世间的迷梦中清醒过来。

以上讲完了《醒世歌》，憨山大师确实是非常了不起的大德，他通过这首《醒世歌》 提醒我们：早日醒来吧，不要再做世间的美梦了，这样没有任何意义！学习这首道 歌后，大家要生起无伪的出离心，对世间不要有任何耽执。当然，光有出离心还不 够，如果没有菩提心，善根不能成为成佛的因，如果没有空性见，善根不能直接成 为解脱的因，所以还要生起菩提心和空性见。现在汉地藏地有些人虽然表面上行持 善法，实际上他们行持的善法根本不能成为解脱之因。有些人不要认为：我天天供 灯、念经，一定能解脱。要看看你的心态：我这样做是为了断除轮回，还是为了今 生的目的？在这方面一定要好好辨别
