Yes, kyanite, as any other crystal or stone, has a special meaning, as well as unique properties. I actually have a
blue kyanite pendant, too, and gifted similar kyanite pendants to several friends of mine.
I feel the energy of kyanite being very helpful and nurturing in a unique kind of way. Kyanite can also be of great help to people who have busy lifestyle because it promotes inner balance, as well as protects from negative influences.
Usually when people think of kyanite, they envision a blue kyanite. Even the name
kyanite means deep blue in Greek. However, kyanite comes in many
colours - you can find white, orange,

black kyanite will have additional grounding and protective properties, being connected to the energies of the first, or root charka. All black colour stones are protective - from black
obsidian and tourmaline to black

The unpolished from of kyanite seems to be the most soothing one. I like using kyanite sticks as they come very handy for

Blue Kyanite is the most widespread color of Kyanite and is the type most often seen. The most outstanding property that all colors of Kyanite are known for, is the ability to bring all of the chakras into alignment.

Orange Kyanite
is one of the colors it comes in... see image on right. It may also be green, indigo, and black, and some uncommon white, yellow, pink and grey stones, but the most common variety is the Blue Kyanite.
It is also found intergrown with some other stones, including with Green
Fuchsite and with Red
Ruby stone... which creates quite lovely stones.
